The game's Kickstarter campaign, on the other hand, has surpassed its initial goal of $900,000 by about $196,000 with only a week left before funding closes. The project director explains that porting a game onto several platforms requires much more time (and money) to ensure that System Shock will perform as expected on each rig without the unnecessary bugs and glitches. While gamers on the Xbox One and PC platforms will be receiving copies of their own System Shock Remastered sometime in 2017, Fader revealed that PS4 gamers will have to wait a year longer as the studio expects the PlayStation-ready version to be finished by no sooner than the first quadrant of 2018.
"After we saw the overwhelming demand for PS4, we reshuffled our priorities and focused on talking to Sony about making that happen," describes project director, Jason Fader, in reference to the team's initial focus on "wrapping" the game up in preparation for its upcoming demo.
